Strategic planning and policy development

Client:                   Defra

Project:                Develop an evidence base for understanding the behavioural, cultural, physical and economic barriers which may be limiting the use of wood products (focusing on English production) in a range of markets. RES and Forest Research consultants we asked by DEFRA to look at the potential markets for wood products. We performed a rapid evidence review, interviewed key players in the sector, developed demand, supply and economic scenarios for the future use of English and UK grown timber. This work was delivered to tight deadlines (over a five month period). Our end point was to recommend three key opportunities, which included new commercial, marketing, innovation and policy interventions.
